Trained at 22 by Cristóbal Balenciaga--a man who was revered by the likes of Coco Chanel and Christian Dior as the King of Fashion--Emanuel Ungaro was the last of a generation cut from the cloth of Parisian haute couture. From the launch of his eponymous label in 1965 until his retirement in 2005, Ungaro was famous for the mastery of his exquisite tailoring, masterful drapery and daring designs.
